Abstract

Information System (IS) has increasingly played a critical role in industry as well as in schools for years. This study was carried out to develop an Information System, particularly for Laguna Bel- air Science School based on the GAP analysis of the school. The purpose of this system is to address the issues and problems as revealed from the Gap analysis. Rational Unified Process (RUP), a division of IBM, was used as a method in developing the IS project. The study was conducted through one- on-one interview and consultation with different department heads and teachers to determine the details about the school’s processes, transactions and procedures. From the results of the interviews and the assessments, DR-SIS was finally developed. Moreover, two surveys were conducted to assess the effectiveness of the existing system and to determine whether the project could solve the existing problem. Based on the evaluation of the project, DR-SIS was acceptable in terms of its usefulness and ease of use.
