Abstract

Hyperuricemia   is a risk factor  for gout arthritis.  One of the factors that  influence the occurrence of hyperuricemia  which purine intake and will increase the levels of uric acid in the body. This study aimed to analyze whether there is a relationship  between the intake of purine to uric acid levels in the index at the University Klabat employees, as well as gender and age are included.  The method used is the analysis obervasional with cross sectionl. Population taken is an employee at the University Klabat index amounted to

32 people by means of random sampling. The results using Spearman correlations and found that there was no association between intake of purine to uric acid levels with the result p = 0168, there was no association between intake of purine to uric acid levels by gender to male p = 0.326 and female p = 0787, there was no association between intake of purine to uric acid levels between age at 35-45 years of age p = 0242 and at the age of 46-65 years.
