Abstract

Atonement  is God’s way to solve sin problem, of bringing about reconciliation,  of winning sinners back to Himself. In the Old Testament the word atonement  related to the Hebrew word kaphar, while in the New Testament the doctrine of atonement centers on the use of three words that express three main ideas: ransom, reconciliation, and propitiation or expiation.  Many theologians try to describe atonement from the perspective of life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This research paper is trying to describe the concept of atonement in perspective the sanctuary services because the Sanctuary services provide clear picture on how the Lord dealt with the sin problem.
