ANTI INFLAMMATION ACTIVITY

Abstract

Taraxacum officinale is a well-known traditional medicine used for the treatment of several diseases. The root has been investigated for demulcent, prebiotic, hypoglycemic, and immune-modulating  effects. The leaf has also been investigated as diuretic and inflammation modulator. This experimental research study influence of infusion of leaves and root compared to dexamethasone (widely used as steroid anti-inflammation)  on white wistar rat administered before and after injected with carrageenan. The result showed significant anti- inflammation activity of T. officinale, where leaves infusion gives highest activity.
