COMPUTER SELF-EFFICACY OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

In the field of education, students’ difficulties in academic skills are often related to the belief about what they are capable of doing and what they are not capable of doing (self-efficacy). Many students have problems in school because they are incapable of performing successfully because they are incapable of believing that they can perform successfully. This study explores students’ computer self-efficacy. It attempts to establish the factors influencing the computer self-efficacy of undergraduate students in an Asian education environment. The results show that the computer self-efficacy of the students is influenced by several factors: advanced computer knowledge, internet usage, knowledge on using basic software, knowledge on how to operate a computer, and self-confidence. These factors explained 67.24 percent of students’ computer self- efficacy
