Abstract

A study was conducted among the first to fourth year students (n=230) from six faculties of a private university in Thailand to determine students’ perceptions with regard to PowerPoint presentations and learning experience. The perceptions of students seem to suggest that the PowerPoint teaching method at the university promotes surface learning. Students perceived the benefits of PowerPoint presentations in classrooms by giving the following high ratings—providing the key points of material content, helping them to remember key points, preparing them for exams, and making information understandable by delivering material content in an organized manner. Overall, students have a positive attitude toward PowerPoint presentations.
