Abstract

This research study about the understanding of “silence in heaven for about half an hour” based on Revelation

8:1, be inspected in Inkopad Parung Church.  Based on four questions which in the Scope of Problems, such as: why there was “silence in heaven”, when the events of Revelation 8:1 were fulfilled, what the meaning of “half an hour”, and how the understanding of the member of the Church of Inkopad Parung about Revelation

8:1.

A summary for the question of why there is “silence in heaven,” are: for God does not speaking to a human; for Satan is punished; for there is rapture of saints who have been sealed, because God judged the earth, and because of Jesus and all His angels coming to the earth.

A summary for the question of when will the events of Revelation 8:1 is fulfilled, are: no one knows; when the angel blew his trumpet on Judgment Day; when the prayers of the saints heard; not at the time of Jesus’ second coming; and it happens when Jesus comes for the second time.

A summary for the question of what is the meaning of “a half an hour” are: it was a momentary pause and unknown; a symbolic prophecy of God; a time where God pronounced judgment and judgment upon the people in earth; twenty-one years, three and a half years; and seven days.

The author concluded, it is because Jesus and his angels leave the heaven and come to the earth to bring

His people from the earth to heaven.  Actually, it is symbolic.

The questionnaire  results of field research  to 30 members of the Inkopad  Parung Seventh-day Adventist Church, concludes that the respondents have a good understanding on Revelation 8:1, while the statement of P3, P7, P8, P10, P12 and P13 have not been understood clearly.

The author suggested that church members of Inkopad Parung cooperate with pastor who serves the church of Inkopad Parung, to get Bible seminars especially Revelation 8:1.
