Diagnosis of Students' Ability to Solve Permutation and Combination Problems

The purpose of this research is to describe students' ability to solve permutation and combination problems. This research is included in the type of descriptive qualitative involving 21 students. Collecting data using a test technique in the form of essay questions. Based on the results of the analysis of students' abilities in solving permutation and combination problems, it was found that most of the students already understood presenting problems in story problems. Although there are some students who are still not thorough in solving problems, especially in distinguishing between combination permutations. Students are also able to formulate mathematical form problems appropriately using the knowledge they have to solve permutations and combinations.
