Abstract

Abstract

Congestion has become a major problem for many cities in the World, including in Indonesia. In Indonesia especially in Jakarta, congestion has reached its nadir and if left untreated can cause total paralysis of the existing transportation system. As a control, in addition to the development of public transpoft modes, the use of Intelligence Transpoftation System (ITS) should be applied also to reduce the level of congestion on the road. The usage of ITS is one way to build a good transpott system that can provide the management of existing transportation systems and handling problems that arise. ITS will be built with the use of devices and applications of information and communication technology. There are many models that ITS can be developed in accordance with the availability of devices and applications of existing technologies and the need of its implementation. This research aims to develop ITS models that may be applied in Indonesia. ITS Model was developed by utilizing the device and the application of information and communication technology available today. ITS model is expected to be implemented in order to obtain a transport system that can maintain and enhance the dignity of its users.
